Established in 1682, West Windsor became a township in 1737 and is rich with colonial history. Check out The Historical Society of West Windsor to learn more about the town’s dynamic and rousing past.

The community acts as an arts and leisure oasis by providing a litany of events including weekly open mics, holiday parades and other neighborly activities. Stop by the Farmers Market to enjoy locally grown produce and homemade goods. Or travel a few miles to Morven, a historic building where Richard Stockton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, once resided.

Recreation and Atractions

West Windsor isn’t far from over 10 parks and recreational facilities. Visit Ron Rogers Arboretum, where you can explore the September 11th memorial. The area is designed to highlight the beauty of the locally heralded oak tree. Hendrickson Drive Tennis Complex boasts five lighted courts, a practice wall and a playground. Any of the local parks offer athletic and family-friendly excursions with their walking/jogging paths, soccer and baseball fields, and pavilions.

The local attractions are testament to the town’s rich heritage. Princeton Battlefield State Park commemorates General Washington’s victory over the British forces during the Revolutionary War. It also accommodates the Ionic Colonnade, designed by Thomas U. Walter, architect of the United States Capital Building. Walk through the halls of the Albert Einstein House and get an inside glimpse into the life of the famed scientist. Drumthwacket is just four miles outside of West Windsor and currently serves as the New Jersey governor’s residence. Palmer Square is a multi-functional social district that includes restaurants, businesses and residential spaces.

School Information

Homes in the area are zoned to West Windsor-Plainsboro School District, where students attend top performing schools and are introduced to a stringent yet enriching curriculum. They’re also located just a few miles from the prestigious Princeton University. There you’ll be able to browse the university’s Art Museum or walk through the rooms of Nassau Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the campus.
